Young Driver Car Insurance Abilene Texas TX
Reader’s Question:
My daughter is eighteen years old. Her Abilene Texas driver’s license expired. She received 2 traffic tickets for this, which have since turned into warrants. She lives with me. Under normal circumstances I would have to carry her on my car insurance policy. Because she does not have a valid driver’s license, can I now legally drop her from my insurance?

You will need to check with your insurance provider in Abilene Texas to see if they will permit you to drop your teenage daughter from your auto insurance policy. Most insurance carriers will not let you drop a household member from your insurance policy. However, most insurance providers will permit you to list her on your insurance policy as an ‘excluded’ driver. By doing this, you are informing your insurance provider that you will not permit that person to drive the cars on your policy. Also, you agree to assume full responsibility if you do permit that person to drive one of the cars on your insurance policy. Some insurance providers will require you provide proof the household member has other insurance before they will permit you to exclude that individual.
