Thank you for asking Raz.

Since Texas is a part of the Drivers License Compact and the state of Georgia is not, both states still has agreements to exchange information with other state.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety out of state violations will be place onto your Texas driving record. According to the Texas points system it is 2 points for a traffic violation in the state of Texas or that in another state.

All traffic offenses and accidents are kept on your driver’s record for 5 years by the Texas Department of Public Safety, with the exception of serious violations.

To check if there if you can remove the points from your record, you may first check with the courts in Georgia to verify if traffic school is available to remove the ticket. You would need to call the DPS to see if there are options available for you in which to dismiss the points on your driving record in Texas if in case you cannot take traffic school to remove the ticket.

Goodluck!
